Mark Haddon

The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time is a murder mystery novel. Despite it’s simplicity of writing, I would not recommend this book for children as it contains a fair amount of strong language.

The story is voiced by Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old boy with Asperger Syndrome who is obsessed with Maths, Science and Physics. His mother is dead, he is passionate about his pet rat,Toby and lives in Swindon with his father.

When he finds his neighbour’s dog lying dead on the lawn, he decides to investigate. Suspicion rises as he asks unanswered questions. Throughout his adventures he uncovers numerous mysteries – and not only the one he’d set out for.

As Christopher is such an excellent, yet obsessed mathematician, he numbered the chapters in prime numbers! At first I was worried because I thought that I’d lost a chapter.

I absolutely loved the book; there were so many moments when my eyes began to dart down the page at the suspense came in.

I especially liked how there were so many pictures and illustations used even though they expressing the boy’s condition. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
